During the day when I feel I need encouragement and it seems that all the questions I need answered are unanswerable, sometimes I start to feel sorry for myself and think:
"Oh poor me, I'm trying to do the right thing and no one is helping me...How sad for me, all I'm trying to do is glorify God and I can't if I don't know what I'm doing...All the advice I've gotten from seasoned, godly women doesn't seem to work for me-oh what to do!" (sounds pitiful, right?)
What I need to hear is this basic truth: God is our Heavenly Father
""And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me," Says the Lord Almighty" (II Corinthians 6:18)
Then I am reminded to stop feeling sorry for myself because I am not alone. God is here. He is looking after me. He knows the trials I am going through and knows the blessings I have that I need reminding of. How wonderful! Therefore, I have nothing to feel sorry about. If Jesus, God's own Son could be pleased in suffering for His Father and rejoicing for the trials, cannot I as well? After all, I am a child of God just as Jesus was a child of God. John 17:23 tells us:
"You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me" (NASB)
Praise God we can rejoice in our everyday seemingly mundane tasks of child-rearing, home-keeping, husband-serving lives because we know that God gave us these tasks to fulfill a specific purpose in His plan that will forever impact eternity and that in all of this...
He is my Father and He watches over me.
May you feel encouraged and God be glorified,
-Cristina, loved by my Heavenly Father
